DMCA Policy
Matex IT Services respects the intellectual property rights of content owners. If you (“Complainant”) believe that material hosted on our servers infringes your copyright, you may submit a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) notice to our designated agent. To be valid under the DMCA, your notification must include all required information listed below.
This procedure is solely for notifying Matex IT Services of alleged copyright infringement.
1. Filing a DMCA Notice (Copyright Complaint)
Your copyright complaint must include:
A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
Identification of the infringing material, including its exact location on our servers (URL or directory path).
Your contact information, including full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
A statement of good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or legally authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
2. Designated Agent for DMCA Notices
All DMCA notices must be sent to:

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA complaint, Matex IT Services will act promptly in accordance with DMCA procedures.
3. Notice & Takedown Procedure
If Matex IT Services receives a valid claim of infringement or becomes aware of content that may infringe upon intellectual property rights, we will:
Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content, and
Notify the affected customer of the takedown.
We may also request additional information if needed to verify the claim.
4. Filing a Counter-Notification (If Your Content Was Removed)
If your content was removed and you believe the takedown was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a Counter-Notification. Your counter-notice must include:
Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable).
Identification of the material that was removed and the original location where it appeared.
A statement under penalty of perjury asserting your good-faith belief that the material was removed due to error or misidentification.
Your full contact information, including name, address, and telephone number.
A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the South African courts (or courts where Matex IT Services operates) and that you will accept service of process from the Complainant.

After Submitting a Counter-Notice
Matex IT Services will forward your counter-notice to the original Complainant.
Unless the Complainant files legal action to restrain the reinstatement, the removed material may be restored within 10–14 business days.
⚠️ Important: Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, knowingly submitting a false counter-notice may result in legal liability.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
Matex IT Services may suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat copyright infringers, in accordance with our policies and applicable law.
6. Accommodation of Standard Technical Measures
Matex IT Services will not interfere with standard technical measures used by copyright owners to identify or protect copyrighted works, provided that:
The measures are developed in an open, multi-industry standards process,
Are available on reasonable, non-discriminatory terms,
And do not impose unreasonable cost or burden on our systems.
